The wiring picture in the manual shows a brown wire coming from the box to the tach, and the violet & dark green wires going out & stopping. I've personally seen them wrong INSIDE the box. The most retarded one is the way it should be. Check the dizzy end play, the shaft can move up and change timing. Lock the rotor at 0 advance, that keeps the rotor phasing better. That coil is kinda crap. My guess, if those don't fix it, it's in the dist pick up.
